Why Kanye West is splitting with the GapFacebookTwitterFlipboardEmail

Kanye West's lawyer, who goes by the name "Ye," told The Associated Press that a letter was sent to Gap on Thursday asking them to end their contract with

West's company, "Yeezy." The fight happened just over a year after Gap sold Yeezy's first item, a blue puffer jacket. In June 2020, the deal was made public.

In the letter that West's lawyer gave to The Associated Press on Thursday, it said that Gap did not live up to its part of the deal,

which included getting the merchandise to Gap stores and making YZY Gap stores.

"Gap's major lack of compliance left Ye with no choice but to end their collaboration agreement,"

Gravante said that Gap's failure to follow the contract's terms has cost them a lot of money.
