Visa, Mastercard AmEx to categorize gun store sales separately

Visa, which is a payment processor, said on Saturday that it will put gun store sales in a separate category.

MasterCard and American Express have already said they will do the same thing. 

Visa said that it would use the new merchant code from the International Organization for Standardization to track sales at gun shops.

On Friday, the new IOS code was made public. Before, sales of guns in stores were called "general merchandise."

They say that having a separate category for gun store sales will help keep track of suspiciously large numbers
