Viola Davis Talks Awards Recognition at TIFF

Davis was talking with director Gina Prince-Bythewood at TIFF, where their historical epic "The Woman King" had its world premiere on September 9. 

After the world premiere of their movie, The Woman King, Viola Davis and Gina Prince-Bythewood talked at the TIFF Bell Lightbox in the afternoon.

Before she talked about the seven-year-long production of the historical epic, Prince-Bythewood talked about how hard it was to get her firs

feature film, Love and Basketball, made. 
Spike Lee and New Line discovered the film after the Sundance Institute asked to hold a reading.

For The Woman King, Prince-Bythewood talked about how hard it is to get black women to lead and be the focus of projects.
