Vienna hosting 9/11 memorial
In the summer of 2011, Vienna Fire Chief Richard Brannon, Lt. John Hinely,
and Assistant Chief Mike Hagood went to New York City to get two big beams from the Twin Towers,
which had fallen after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. This display is in front of the Vienna Fire Department,
where a memorial service will be held today at 2 p.m. to remember the 21 years since the terrorist attacks.
"You'd be surprised by how many people stop to look at the exhibit. People will stand there and think, and other people will sit in their cars nearby.
Hinely said, "I know that many people will pass by and stop here to think about what happened on September 11."
Hinely said that he had talked to some of the visitors.
