UGANDA DEMOTED TO BOWL COMPETITION OF RWC 7S

Uganda will play in the Bowl Competition of the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022 after losing to Samoa 33–7 on Friday

at the Cape Town Stadium in a match before the round of 16.

The unique "winner takes all" knock-out competition format was first used at the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2018 in San Francisco.

This means that every match counts, and teams need to win every time they go out on the field to become world champions.

The game got off to a good start for the Uganda Sevens when their captain, Michael Wokorach, scored a well-planned try.

Tolbert Onyango's team had a 00:07 lead. Moments later, Uganda played a good physical game, but Samoa responded with full force and ran over them.

Uganda will now play the Republic of Korea in the quarterfinals of the Bowl Competition. In their first game, the Republic of Korea lost 33-10 to Wales.
