Welcome to MMAjunkie's Quick Picks and Prognostications, where I'll be offering succinct, fight-day analyses of UFC big events.
In light of this, I sincerely hope my articles don't come across as dismissive or brusque. Instead, my aim is to provide brief recommendations and analysis in a manner that is easy to read.
The Tipico Sportsbook has provided all of the odds shown. Check out The Protect Ya' Neck Podcast, my weekly show, if you'd like more in-depth analysis from me.
Without further ado... I'm not sure if hell has actually frozen over, but it's fantastic to see
the current UFC matchmakers return to Joe Silva's tried-and-true strategy of having a lightweight or featherweight bout open the main show.
Charles Jourdain is seeking to recover from a close loss to Shane Burgos, while Nathaniel Wood has stepped up from the bantamweight class.
I love Wood's front kicks and his boxing on the feet, but I have a feeling that Jourdain's attacks from his southpaw stance will give the English fighter trouble given his past with left-handed blows.
