Succession’ Wins Top Drama at Emmys

At the 74th Emmy Awards on Monday night, HBO's "Succession," which is about a dysfunctional media family,

won the award for best drama for the second time. The show's creator, Jesse Armstrong, also won an Emmy for best writing.

This is the third time he has won in that category. And for the first time, Matthew Macfadyen won the award for best supporting actor

in a drama for his work on the show. It was the sixth time in eight years that HBO won television's top award

for a recurring series, making it another great night for the cable network. HBO and its streaming service, HBO Max

won more Emmys than any other network, including Netflix, which was its biggest competitor.

And for the first time, Matthew Macfadyen won the award for best supporting actor in a drama for his work on the show.
