The five most important announcements from Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked in August 2022

Samsung just finished its latest Galaxy Unpacked event, where it announced, as expected, two foldable phones, new smartwatches,

and an update to its Galaxy Buds Pro line. Even though the company's announcements didn't come as much of a surprise, the updates seem to be improvements all around.

As always, though, you should wait for full reviews of the products to see if they're really improvements. Find out more about what was said by reading on.

The Galaxy Z FLIP 4 is an incremental update to Samsung's foldable flip phone. The Z Flip 4 looks a lot like its predecessor, and yes, it still flips down like the old flip phones did.

But there are a few new software tricks, like being able to see selfie previews on the cover screen that have the same aspect ratio as the image itself,

and fast charging, which can charge the phone to 50 percent in about 30 minutes. The phone starts at $999, and you can preorder it today so you can get it on August 26.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 isn't very different either, but it has better cameras. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 doesn't do much to change things either.

Samsung made some big changes to the camera array, including a new 50-megapixel main sensor, but the design is mostly the same as before.

But it's still a pricey phone, starting at $1,799. You can order it now, and you can get it on August 26. The Galaxy Watch 5 and SmartWatches have bigger batteries.

Samsung's Galaxy Watch 4 series was criticised for having a short battery life, but the company hopes to fix this with the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro,

which have bigger batteries. It also has a body temperature sensor, which is something that the Apple Watch might also get this year.

The Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro can be preordered right now, and shipping will start on August 26.

The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro are a bit more expensive, but they have a new look and can play high-quality audio.

Samsung's new Galaxy Buds 2 Pro are 15 percent smaller than the first pair and can play high-quality audio over Bluetooth at 24-bit resolution.

But these new features cost more. The Galaxy Buds Pro now cost $229.99, which is $30 more than the original Galaxy Buds Pro.
