Russia has resorted to buying millions of rockets
Due to severe Western sanctions and devastating military losses, US authorities have stated that Russia has been compelled to purchase millions of rockets
and artillery shells from impoverished North Korea for its ongoing invasion of Ukraine. Under the condition of anonymity,
, a US source stated on Monday that Russia's reliance on the reclusive state of North Korea showed that "the Russian military continues to suffer from significant supply shortages in Ukraine
in part due to export controls and sanctions." A newly downgraded intelligence report, which was first published by the New York Times, has made U.S.
officials worried that Russia may try to buy more military equipment from North Korea in the future.
The official from the United States did not say how many weapons Russia plans to buy from North Korea.
The discovery came after the Biden administration confirmed that the Russian military got drones made in Iran in August to use on the battlefield in Ukraine.
