Raju Srivastava Popular Indian comedian dies aged 58

Raju Srivastava, an Indian comedian who was well known, has died at the age of 58, his family has confirmed.

Srivastava was getting care at a hospital in Delhi, the capital, after having a heart attack on August 10.

The comedian had chest pain and passed out while working out at the gym. He was taken to the hospital and put on life support.

His family said last week that Srivastava was slowly getting better but was still on a ventilator.

In the 1980s, Srivastava went into the entertainment business as an actor in Hindi films.

In 2005, he became famous after taking part in the stand-up comedy reality show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.

When the news of Srivastava's death came out, it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who led the tributes.
