Paper Girls’ Canceled After Single Season at Amazon

The Paper Girls won't be going out on the same route again. The show, which was based on a comic by Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang,

was cancelled by Amazon Prime Video after just one season. The decision was made six weeks after all eight episodes of the season came out.

The show got good reviews from critics and got good audience scores on review aggregators, but from what little data we have, it didn't really take off with viewers

Paper Girls didn't make Nielsen's top 10 original streaming lists in any of the three weeks after its premiere on July 29.

The show is about four girls, Sofia Rosinsky, Camryn Jones, Fina Strazza, and Riley Lai Nelet, who are delivering newspapers on the day after

Halloween in 1988 when they get caught up in a war between two groups of time travellers. Ali Wong also plays the character that Nelet played as an adult.

In July 2020, Prime Video gave the project a season order. The show is made by Amazon Studios, Legendary Television, and Plan B.
