Netflix Japan Star From Alice Borderland

At the last Tudum event of the past 24 hours, rising stars from Netflix Japan's most popular original shows talked about what it was like to work with the streaming service.

In Japan, Netflix is in a fierce battle with Amazon, Disney+, and others to be the best streaming service. Today's event was a chance for Netflix to show how powerful it is.

So, at the Netflix Tudum event, it interviewed five rising stars from the Asian country. Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya, who play Arisu and

Usagi in Alice in Borderland, were there, as were Nana Mori and Natsuki Deguchi, who play Kiyo and Sumire in The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House,

and voice actress Fairouz Ai, who plays Jolyne Cujoh in the upcoming Jolly Roger. Based on the same-named manga, the first season of Alice in Borderland came out in 2020

. It was about Yamazaki and Tsuchiya, who were stuck in a dystopian Tokyo and had to play dangerous card games to survive.

Shinsuke Sato, who was on a Tudum panel today, was in charge of making the show. Today, a teaser for the second season was shown.

Tsuchiya was asked how Japanese Netflix originals compare

to Netflix originals from other countries. She said she didn't know but added,

One day I'd like to actually go overseas and hear what people think in person."
