Lea Michele Opens In 'Funny Girl' To Standing Ovations And Raves From Fans

This week, the "Glee" actor made her long-awaited return to Broadway. Drew Barrymore and Jonathan Groff were among the stars in the crowd. 

This week, Lea Michele's much-anticipated return to the New York stage in "Funny Girl" made her a Broadway star again.

On Tuesday, the "Glee" actor and singer gave her first performance as Fanny Brice. She got at least four standing ovations, but the exact number isn't clear.

. Drew Barrymore, Jonathan Groff, Zachary Quinto, and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul were rumoured to be in the crowd.

They celebrated her and her co-star Tovah Feldshuh again at curtain call, giving them both bouquets of white roses. 

Feldshuh, who has been nominated for a Tony Award four times, also joined the show on Tuesday as Fanny's mother, Mrs. Brice.  

Since she left "Spring Awakening" in 2008, Michele hasn't been in a Broadway show until "Funny Girl.
