Karen Khachanov beat Nick Kyrgios 7-5, 4-6, 7-5, 6-7 (3), 6-4 at the U.S. Open to make it to his first Grand Slam semifinal. 

After beating the defending champion, Daniil Medvedev, Kyrgios wasn't able to win another match after beating the defending champion, Daniil Medvedev. 

At a loud Arthur Ashe Stadium, the match started on Tuesday night and went on until after midnight on Wednesday.

Two fans were kicked out of the game early on because one of them gave the other a haircut in the stands.

Khachanov, who is seeded 27th, will play Casper Ruud, who is seeded 5th, on Friday for a spot in the championship match.

It looks like Nick Kyrgios and Karen Khachanov's quarterfinal match at the U.S. Open is going to go to a fifth set.

The first and third sets went to Khachanov. Kyrgios finished second and fourth. 

Kyrgios, who came in second at Wimbledon, is trying to reach his first Flushing Meadows semifinal

after beating defending champion Daniil Medvedev in the fourth round.

Khachanov has never reached a major tournament semi-final.
