The sudden departure of John Harwood from CNN on Friday has added fuel to the #BoycottCNN movement,

as many people are worried about the network's move toward the middle.

"If CNN is moving toward Trump, tell them you don't like it," one user tweeted on Sunday. "John Harwood should also be canned."

Harwood, CNN's White House Correspondent, said it was his last day on the job on Friday, just hours after calling Donald Trump a "dishonest demagogue" in

his analysis of President Joe Biden's national address on Thursday night, in which the President warned that "MAGA Republicans" are trying to destroy US

democracy. Harwood, who is 65 years old, wrote on Twitter, "Personal news: today is my last day at CNN. I am proud of the work. Thanks to my colleagues.

I've been lucky to work for the best in American media: the St. Petersburg Times, WSJ, NYT, the NBC family, and CNN.

The first call to # BoycottCNN came in August, when people thought that John Malone, a billionaire media mogul and shareholder in Warner Bros.

Discovery, might have been behind the cancellation of Brian Stelter's show "Reliable Sources."

Malone, who has supported Trump in the past, denied in an email to The New York Times that he had anything to do with the decision.
