Jennette McCurdy's book, "I'm Glad My Mom Died," came out this week. In it, she talks about what it was like to be a child star.
Jennette became well-known for her role as Sam Puckett on iCarly, where she was in all six seasons and a spinoff series.
But when it was time to start over, she turned down the offer, which was a big deal. At the time of the reboot,
Jennette seemed to have quit acting. She said that her mother made her do it even though she didn't want to. She said that as an adult,
she was "ashamed" of a lot of her old work because it was "cheesy" and "embarrassing." In her book, Jennette wrote about why she didn't want to do the iCarly reboot and
how she told her co-star Miranda Cosgrove. Jennette says that she told Miranda, "I'm not going to do the reboot." "Nothing you say will make me change my mind."
She told me that she thinks the reboot could be a chance for everyone in the cast to "get back out there" and maybe find other work.
Jennette remembered what Miranda had said. Miranda also said that "it's really good money" to try to get Jennette to do the show, but Jennette said that
"there were things more important than money." "And my happiness and mental health are part of that," she remembered telling Miranda.
"A moment of silence follows. It's one of the few times I don't think I said too much or too little. I think I gave a good picture of myself, and there's nothing I'd change about how I said it. I feel proud.
We end our talk by saying we'll stay in touch and then hang up. " After two seasons of the new iCarly,
Jennette doesn't seem to have changed her mind about coming back to the show. She does say, though, that she's "open to the idea" of acting again.
I can't believe I'm saying this. Have you ever had a thought that made you think, "Oh, where did that come from?" What's going on here?
" She told Entertainment Tonight that she had a random thought about going back into show business one day.
