Galaxy can make vital move toward playoffs vs. Quakes
When the Los Angeles Galaxy play the San Jose Earthquakes in the California Clasico at Stanford, Calif.,
on Saturday night, they could move a long way toward making the playoffs.
The Galaxy (12-12-7) and Real Salt Lake (43 points) are tied for seventh place in the Western Conference in terms of points,
but RSL has the tiebreaker advantage. The Galaxy still have a game to play,
and a win would put them ahead of Minnesota United and tie them with the Portland Timbers for fifth place.
The Earthquakes (7-14-10) are in last place in the West with 31 points, but they beat the Galaxy (3-2) at home on July 13.
