Fresh clashes break out between Azerbaijan and Armenia
Russian news agencies said early Tuesday that fighting broke out between Azerbaijani and Armenian troops.
This is a return to fighting that has been going on for decades over the disputed territory of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Azerbaijan took back full control of the territory after a six-week war in 2020, but its forces were hurt in the process.
Armenian officials didn't say that anyone was hurt, but they did say that fighting continued overnight.
Interfax said that the Armenian government said it would use a cooperation agreement with Russia and appeal to the Collective Security Treaty Organization,
a security bloc led by Russia, as well as the UN Security Council.
