David Cronenberg’s Scanners Heads 

William Bridges will be in charge of making the show, and Yann Demange will be in charge of directing it.

The 1981 horror cult film Scanners by David Cronenberg is being turned into an HBO series.

William Bridges, who won an Emmy for co-writing the "USS Callister" episode of Black Mirror, is the series' writer and showrunner. Yann Demange,

who directed the pilot for HBO's "Lovecraft Country," is in charge of directing. Both will do executive work.

This project will be made by HBO, Media Res Studio, and Wayward Films all at the same time.

Scanners told of a small group of people with a variety of psychic, telepathic, and telekinetic powers
