Colombia Celebrates National Biodiversity Day

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) held the "Cycling for the Planet" event on Sunday in the beautiful town of Guatavita,

which is north of the Colombian capital, Bogota. More than 500 cyclists took part in the event.

As part of Colombia's National Biodiversity Day, a fun event was held to bring attention to the need to protect the country's native species.

Bicyclists took a short route of 16.3 km or a longer, more difficult route of 30.2 km.  

"Colombia has the most species and ecosystems of any country in the world," Sandra Valenzuela,

She said that the goal of the event was to "do something concrete to connect with nature
