Colin Kaepernick and his girlfriend, Nessa Diab, are about to have their first child.
Colin Kaepernick, an athlete and activist, and his partner, Nessa Diab, said on Sunday that they had had their first child.
"Colin and I welcomed our amazing baby into the world a few weeks ago, and we couldn't be happier," Diab wrote on Instagram with a photo of the couple and their newborn.
Diab, who works on radio and TV, made the announcement right before hosting MTV's red carpet show at the Video Music Awards on Sunday night.
She said that she made the announcement at that time because "today is the first day in a few weeks that I've gone to work with a new title: MOM."
Getting better after giving birth has been a long road (more on that later), and I wasn't going to talk about it because it's so personal to us.
But then I realised I'm a total mama bear! " The mother-to-be went on. "Colin is the best dad ever, and I'm so thankful that he's with us every step of the way."
"I know that by telling you this, I can connect with you in ways I never thought possible," Diab wrote. My life and the way I talk to people have already changed.
And our sweet little baby has made my world even bigger by showing me how to love in ways I never knew. " She signed her post "The Kaepernicks," but she didn't say the name or gender of the child.
Since 2016, Kaepernick and Diab have been going out together. When he played for the San Francisco 49ers, Colin Kaepernick, now 34,
kneeled during the national anthem to protest police brutality and racial injustice. This caused a lot of trouble.
The athlete hasn't played in an NFL game in five years, but in May, he trained with the Las Vegas Raiders.
