Avril Lavigne, who is known for her pop punk music, will get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The 37-year-old star has had many hits, such as "Sk8er Boi," "Complicated," and "Girlfriend." He will be the 2,731st celebrity to get a star on the sidewalk at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard.

On August 31, there will be a ceremony to show off the star. Ana Martinez, who works for the Hall of Fame, said,

"This isn't hard to understand. Avril Lavigne deserves this Walk of Fame star, and we're thrilled to give it to her. "

"Avril's fans are calling me all the time to ask when she will get her star. We're happy to say that now is the time. "

The Canadian star has also talked about how her movie based on the 2002 hit "Sk8er Boi" is coming along. "It just takes a long time," she told Nylon.

Right now, I'm working on the plot with the director and the writer. I'm really excited that "Sk8er Boi" is going to be a movie. I've been wanting to do it for a long time.

Lavigne thinks that being real has been the key to her success. She said, "Now that the songs have stood the test of time, it means a lot to me." I think, though, that I was just being honest.

I made the music. They came from my point of view and how I see things. I remember thinking at the time that what I was going through was like

being a teenager. And right now, it seems to have changed, like my new album "Love Sux." I've changed course here and there.
