Wishes have been a big part of Disney history for many years, as seen in songs like "When You Wish Upon a Star" and "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes,"

and the company said at the D23 Expo on Friday that its upcoming film, "Wish," will take this idea to the next level.

It was announced at the D23 Expo on Friday that the new animated movie takes place in Rosas, the kingdom of wishes.

The movie is about the power of wishes, and it combines the classic Disney animation style,

which looks like it was done with watercolours, with a more modern CGI look. Asha, a 17-year-old girl who is the main character and hero of "Wish

will be played by Ariana DeBose. The movie was written by Jennifer Lee, and Chris Buck and Fawn Veerashunthorn will direct it.

More for Us," one of the songs from "Wish," was performed live by DeBose for the D23 crowd. "Wish" will be released

in theatres in November 2023 to celebrate Disney's 100th anniversary.
