I Love Life, Thank You, Mac Miller’s sixth mixtape, is now available to stream online thanks to his estate. Miller’s 13-song mixtape came out for the first time in October 2011. Talib Kweli, Sir Michael Rocks, the Come Up, and Bun B were all on it. 9th Wonder, Clams Casino, Big Jerm, Cardo, E Dan, Black Diamond, Brandun DeShay, and Miller have all done work for him.
The songs on the mixtape were released along with his “Road 2 a Million Fans” campaign in April 2011. They came out a month before his first studio album, Blue Slide Park. Every time he got 100,000 new Twitter followers, he released a new song. “Love Lost” came first, then “Family First,” “Just a Kid,” “The Miller Family Reunion,” “Cold Feet,” and finally “Willie Dynamite,” which came when he had 900,000 followers. When he got to one million, he made the whole project available for digital download.
Mac Miller’s I Love Life
To celebrate the release of I Love Life, Rostrum Records, and the r/hiphopheads sub-Reddit will host a space where the mixtape will be streamed for 12 hours, never-before-seen photos and videos will be shared, giveaways will be held, and people who knew Miller, who died of an overdose on September 7, 2018, will be interviewed.
With the help of producer Jon Brion, his last album, Circles, came out after he died in January 2020. Then, in 2021, Miller’s free mixtape Faces came out after seven years. At the time, Vulture critic Craig Jenkins called it “the best work of his young career.” I Love Life, Thank You can be heard below.
