John Wick 4 sneak peek teaser

“Have you thought about how this will end?” No one can kill everyone, not even you. “

Even though the movie doesn’t come out until March 2023, Keanu Reeves stopped by Comic-Con to show a sneak peek teaser for John Wick Chapter 4, just called John Wick (which might be confusing given that this is also the title of the original film that launched the whole franchise). Deadline Hollywood says that Reeves crashed the Collider’s Directors on Directing panel, where Chad Stahelski, who directed John Wick: Chapter 4, was one of the panelists.

Below are spoilers for the first three movies in the series.

As I’ve written before, John Wick (Reeves) is a legendary hitman known as the “Boogeyman” or “Baba Yaga” who tried to retire when he fell in love and got married. A senseless act of violence pulls him back into the dark underground world where his wife died. John Wick will stop at nothing to get his revenge. The first John Wick movie made more than $88 million worldwide and cost around $30 million to make. It was praised for its fast pace, heart-stopping action scenes, and stylish noir feel.

So, of course, there was a follow-up. In John Wick: Chapter Two, Wick fights a bunch of Russian bad guys, but the code of honor for professional hitmen says that he has to do one last job. The client, Italian crime boss Santino D’Antonio (Riccardo Scamarcio), tries to cover his tracks by putting a bounty on Wick’s head. Wick kills Santino, who had just been named to the High Table, inside the Continental Hotel in New York, which is supposed to be a safe place for assassins. He is then labeled “excommunicated,” which cuts him off from all the help the hitman underground usually gives him. This is where John Wick: Chapter 3 comes in.

The Parabellum started back up, and Wick was scrambling to find allies and weapons to fight the assassins in the underworld, who were all very eager to get the $14 million bounty on his head. The title is a reference to the old saying, “If you want peace, prepare for war.” Wick pretty much-declared war on the High Table, and when everyone’s favorite dog-loving hitman is involved, you know what’s going to happen.

Parabellum sets up John Wick

One last twist at the end of Parabellum sets up John Wick: Chapter 4 perfectly. In exchange for killing Winston (Ian McShane), the manager of the NYC Continental Hotel where Wick killed Santino, the elder would forgive John’s many offenses against the High Table. Winston had refused to step down when he was told to as a punishment for helping John. But when it was time, John didn’t want to finish the mission.

So, the High Table sent an army of killers. Winston gave them guns, and John killed most of them. During the conversation that followed with the Adjudicator, Winston swore allegiance to the High Table and shot John, causing him to fall off the roof and land on the ground. He was saved by the servants of the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne), who was badly hurt, and the two of them vowed to work together to get their revenge.

The most important question is whether or not Winston’s betrayal was planned. Did he really want John to die? Stahelski told Digital Spy in 2020 that this could be taken in different ways, but either way, Winston’s choice in Chapter 4 will have an effect. Stahleski made one thing very clear in a foul-mouthed interview with IndieWire: John might live after brutally killing over 300 people (so far), but he won’t find a new love interest and ride off into the sunset. “There’s no happy ending at the end,” he said. “He can’t go anywhere.”

Who plays Charon

In this part, Reeves, McShane, Fishburne, and Lance Reddick, who plays Charon, the slick concierge of the NYC Continental, are all back. One of the new characters is Akira, who was played for the first time in a feature film by Japanese singer-songwriter Rina Sawayama. She was chosen because, in a couple of her music videos, Stahelski saw her combine dance and martial arts, so we can be sure that the fight choreography will play to her strengths. Donnie Yen, a well-known Hong Kong action star; Hiroyuki Sanada; Shamier Anderson, Bill Skarsgard, Clancy Brown, and Scott Adkins are also in the cast, but their roles have not been revealed.

In Chapter 4, things will happen in Japan, the United States, Paris, Berlin, and Jordan. The Comic-Con teaser doesn’t tell us much about the plot, but do we need to? Fans of a franchise know what they want and trust Stahleski to give it to them. The teaser is good. We see John punching a roped pole that is already bloody from being used so much, in between shots of him using samurai swords, nunchucks, bows and arrows, “dog fu,” daggers, and, of course, guns. “Have you thought about where this will lead?” someone asks John. “The table will go on forever.” You already know. No one can kill everyone, not even you. “

But neither does John Wick. Yes, there will be Chapter 5. The studio had planned to film it at the same time as Chapter 4, but because of the pandemic and Reeves’ schedule for The Matrix Resurrections, it decided to just focus on the fourth installment. Reeves has said that he will keep making John Wick movies as long as they are successful. The movie Parabellum made $362 million around the world. If the next two books do as well as this one, or better, the series will be around for a long time.

who was raised to be an assassin

In fact, a spinoff movie called “Ballerina” is already in the works. In it, Ana de Armas plays a young woman who was raised to be an assassin and wants to get back at the people who killed her family. In a key scene of Parabellum, young girls go to a school that is a lot like the one where John Wick grew up and gets intense ballet training. The spinoff movie will be about one of these girls as an adult. A limited-run TV show called “The Continental,” about a young Winston in the 1970s and played by Colin Woodell, is also in the works.

Chapter 4 of John Wick is set to come out on March 24, 2023.
