‘Daredevil’ Born Again release date: Cast and possible story

The rumors did turn out to be true. At the San Diego Comic-Con in 2022, it was announced that Charlie Cox would be back on TV as Daredevil.

What should you expect, and when will it happen? Find out what we know about Daredevil: Born Again by reading on.

Date of the release of Daredevil: Born Again.

The first 18 episodes of Daredevil: Born Again are set to air in the spring of 2024. For comparison, the original live-action Daredevil series on Netflix ran for three seasons and a total of 39 episodes between 2015 and 2018.

The Story of Daredevil: Born Again

The story of Daredevil: Born Again has been kept completely secret. But the title might tell you something.

Yes, “Born Again” could just mean that a show that was canceled has come back from the dead. But it’s also called the same thing as a storyline in issues #227–231.

Den of Geek says that Born Again is one of the darkest stories in the comic, and if it were made into a movie, it would be darker than anything else the MCU has put on screen so far.

In the story arc of the comic, Karen Page tells Kingpin who Daredevil really is in exchange for drug money. The Kingpin uses this information to ruin Matt Murdock’s life, leaving him broke, homeless, and without the will to live. After helping Karen quit smoking, Daredevil joins forces with Captain America to fight the supersoldier Nuke.

As the site points out, Netflix has already used some of the story arc’s plot points, but there’s still plenty of material for the new series to use if it’s not too much.

The Cast of Daredevil: Born Again

So far, only Charlie Cox (who plays Daredevil) and Vincent D’Onofrio (who plays Kingpin) are confirmed to be in the show.

If the above plot theory turns out to be true, we might get to see Deborah Ann Woll play Karen Page again, but nothing has been confirmed either way.

Netflix has the movie Daredevil: Born Again.

The original run of Daredevil ended in 2018 after three seasons, but this Netflix cancellation probably wasn’t due to a lack of viewers. More likely, it was because Disney had started trying to get all of its Marvel properties together for its own streaming service, Disney Plus.

In January, Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays Kingpin, said on the Marvel News Desk podcast, “You know, at the same time that the #Save_Daredevil group started to grow, we started to learn why that was happening, so we knew what Marvel was doing because Disney Plus was coming out.”

So, you’ll only be able to watch the new series on Disney Plus, but you can still watch the first three series on Netflix.

Why is there such a long time between the shows? Well, Variety says that after the show was canceled, the characters couldn’t be in any TV shows or movies that weren’t made by Netflix for two years. Now that the time is up, we might get to see a lot more of Daredevil and Kingpin than we were told.
